Evaluation of violence tendency among football spectators with Maudsley Violence Questionnaire

The aim of current study is to find and to discuss the effects of violence at the present in football matches. The study carried out in accordance with the general descriptive model of survey methods. Participants are comprised of people who took tickets for Diyarbakırspor-Yenimalatyaspor, Diyarbakırspor-Balıkesir football matches. The sample of the study was created using a random sampling method. MVQ (Maudsley Violence Questionnaire) which was developed by Walker (2005) was used as the data collection tool, the data collection tool translated into Turkish and then applied. The MVQ?s Cronbach's alpha internal consistency coefficient is 0.91. The participants who inclued in this study were 298 supporters of Diyarbakirspor, 268 of them were male, the mean age and standart deviation 22.87 ± 5.23, the recent 30 female the mean age and standart deviation 20.11 ± 4.86. For data analysis, the chi-square, variance, standard deviation, frequency and statistical analysis techniques are used. According to the findings 33 individuals were found as violent people and there was a slight tendency of machismo within these people. The findings showed that 28 male and 5 female were tended to violence. The individuals who had tendency to violence are strongly agreed to 10 of 42 machismo questions which had superior violence meaning, and it is found that they were partially agreed to some of the remained questions. According to the results of the study, some youngsters in society are in tendency of violence and there should immidiately be prevelances for the topics.
