Abstract (EN)

In this study we have done, Ghazali's life, works, the concepts of heart, soul and self, which Ghazali used synonymously with mind the concepts associated with mind, the concept of mind in the early sufis, the consept of mind in sufi thought, remark and philosopy and the concept of mind in Gazali's thought were tried to be discussed with literature review method. At the beginning of the criticisms against Sufism in general and Ghazali in particular, comes the claim that Sufism and Ghazali are against mind and rational thought, causing the decline of thought and scientific life. Sufism generally seperates the mind into two parts: akl-i meâs and akl-i mead. While akl-ı meâş is described as the mind used in daily life, akl-ı meâd is considered as the universal mind. The problem here is not that the Sufis eliminate mind, but which mind they prefer. According to Sufism, the mind, which is criticized and seen as insufficient, is the mind which criticized and seen as in sufficent is the mind that is used for dailylife. If the mind is enlightened in the light of revelation, it becomes a guide in the journey of seeking the truth. God can be known through this mind, which is called akl-ı meâd. In our study, these criticisms against Ghazali are nansense, the concept of mind in Ghazali's thought is discussed, and the mind that Ghazali defends enlightenedwith revelation and the value he gives to mind has been tried to be studied on.
