Abstract (EN)
Currently the contents of mass media are being made the subject of various researches from many different points of view. Television, which is considered a powerful mass media, has great importance in the creation of various images. This research shall concentrate on how patriarchal ideology reproduces itself through television serials. How social sexual representations are presented after being fictionalised through certain codes and how hybrid structures emerging in the society, which changes together with globalisation and technological developments, are shown, shall also be dwelt upon. Within this context, the presentation of social sexual representations and hybrid identities, and the concept of hegemony shall be examined within the context of the television serials Sıla and Yaralı Yürek.Key Concepts: Social Sexual Representation, Media, Hegemony, Tradition, Hybridisation.
