Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to compare the multidirectional jump strength and the passive range of motion of the lower extremity of young volleyball and basketball players. In the research, 31 basketball players (average age: 16.23±1.08 years; average height: 193.32±8.21cm; average body weight: 84.71±11.52kg), 25 volleyball players (average age: 16.8±0.9 years; average height: 193.52) playing in professional background ±6.88cm, mean body weight: 80.72±8.41kg, a total of 56 athletes participated voluntarily. For the jumping power of the athletes, in the vertical plane; counter movement jump, drop jump (depth jump) and squat jump in the horizontal plane; single leg triple hop test was used. Lower extremity passive range of motion was measured in degrees with a goniometer. Data were evaluated in IBM SPSS Statistics 24 program. Shapiro Wilk test was used for normality distribution. Because of the normal distribution, independent sample t-test was used for pairwise comparisons, while Pearson correlation test was used for correlation. Data were evaluated with a confidence interval of p<0.05. As a result, as a result of the independent T test data, a significant difference was observed in the jump force (N) and stiffness (kN/m) only in the drop jump test in volleyball and basketball players; there was no statistical difference between the other jump tests applied in the vertical and horizontal planes and the passive range of motion. When the passive left and right and lower extremity joint range averages are examined, a significant difference is observed only in passive knee flexion and hip extension. As a result of Pearson correlation tests, a relationship was found between passive hip flexion and knee flexion for basketball players, and a relationship with passive hip abduction in knee flexion in volleyball players. It is seen that passive joint gap has an effect on jumping.
