Abstract (EN)

An individual may face many good or bad events in life. Psychological resilience is defined as the resistance and effort of an individual against adverse life events. In this study, it was aimed to determine the relationship and direction between trait anxiety and psychological resilience of individuals. For this purpose, the Personal Information form was applied to 204 young adults, followed by the Trait Anxiety Inventory to measure the anxiety levels of individuals, and the Adult Resilience Scale to determine their resilience, and the correlation between them was examined. As a result of the linear regression analysis made with the obtained data, a significant negative correlation was found between psychological resilience and trait anxiety. As a result of the independent sample t-test, it was concluded that the psychological resilience levels of the married individuals were higher than those of the single ones. As a result of another independent sample t-test, it was determined that individuals who did not receive psychological / psychiatric support had higher levels of psychological resilience. In line with these results, resilience seems to be protective for anxiety disorders so steps for increasing resillience in individuals are important. Studies with larger samples are needed.
