Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between individuals' levels of relationship addiction and their emotion regulation skills and self-control capacities. Another objective of the research is to investigate the associations between these variables and the participants' demographic characteristics. The study was designed using a relational survey model. The sample consisted of 342 participants aged between 18 and 45, who were reached through online forms. Data were collected using the Spann-Fischer Codependency Scale (SFCS), the Emotion Regulation Skills Scale (ERSS), the Self-Control and Self-Management Scale (SCSMS), and a Demographic Information Form. The data were analyzed using independent samples t-test, one-way ANOVA, Welch ANOVA, Tukey's HSD test, Games-Howell post hoc test, and Pearson correlation analysis. The findings revealed significant negative correlations between relationship addiction and both emotion regulation skills and self-control levels. Additionally, a significant positive correlation was found between emotion regulation and self-control. In terms of demographic variables, age, employment status, socio-economic level, and educational background were found to cause significant differences in some dimensions, whereas gender, psychological support status, relationship status, and birth order within the family did not show significant effects. Based on these results, it can be concluded that an individual's emotion regulation and self-control skills may play a critical role in their level of relationship addiction. Keywords: Relationship addiction, emotional regulation, self control
