Abstract (EN)

Prayer is an innate need and phenomenon that emerges as a requirement of man's creation. Throughout his history, man has wanted to believe in a supreme being, to take refuge in him and to trust him. In all life philosophies based on belief in Allah, the orientation of the creatures towards Allah is in question, and it is seen that prayer performs a function that brings people closer to Allah. In this study, the subject of prayer has been examined from the perspective of hadiths; the importance, virtue, etiquette, conditions and psychological effects of prayer, its benefits and effects in human life, the relationship between fate and predestination and prayer are revealed within the framework of hadiths. In the hadiths, which are the second source of Islam after the Qur'an; prayer has been accepted as the essence of servitude and the subject of prayer has been revealed in all its details. In addition, the place of prayer in the hadith literature has been examined both in the hadith books on the subject and within the framework of the independent prayer literature from a very early period, such as the beginning of the second century Hijri. The subject of prayer in Mamer bin Rashid's al-Cami, one of the earliest hadith sources that have survived, has been analyzed in detail. The detached prayer literature in the first five centuries of Hijri, which is called as "the narration period" of the hadith, and the most important parts of the prayer in the themed hadith literature on the subject were evaluated starting from the earliest, thus, the development and change adventure of the subject of prayer in the sources was depicted. In the hadiths, prayer is accepted as worship, and the necessary conditions for the prayer to be acceptable have been determined and its framework has been drawn. Its importance and position in hadiths paved the way for the formation of prayer-type literature in hadith literature, and an enormous prayer literature was formed
