Abstract (EN)

Mecca has an important position in the Arabian peninsula both pre-islam and post-islam because Kaaba is located in Mecca and is considered sacred. After Prophet's communique, Muslims hejirad from Mecca to Medina as a result of the struggle between muslims and mushriks. But the interest in Mecca has not change since Kaaba is in there. Qadis are an important part of the scientific structure of Mecca which is of such importance to Muslims. Its important to ascertain the reliations of these qadis with the hadith science and their contributions to this science. For this reason, the qadis who served in Mecca in the first 3rd century AH, were examined and 44 qadis were identified. In order to reveal the contributions of these qadis to the hadith science, those who have a relationship with hadith science are investigated and 20 qadis are reached. The qadis primarily are divided in term of their reliability in the hadith narrations. Thereafter, four reliable narrations who became prominent qadis and traditionist and five weak narrations, were examined in terms of their jarh and tadil status, narratives, judiciary and jurisprudence. The other 11 qadis who had a relationship with the hadith science were investigated only in terms of the status of jarh and ta'dil. The information obtained had been evaluated as relations of the qadis with the hadith narrations and their judiciary. Finally, the claim of the orientalist regarding the hadith fabrications of the qadis, were evaluaed through narrative of narrations. Key Words: Mecca, Hadith, Qadi, Fiqh, 3rd Century AH
