Abstract (EN)

This study examines how competence occurs in the context of Ibn Sînâ's theory of soul, by centered on the symbolic story of "Salaman and Absal". Ibn Sînâ refers to the symbolic story of "Salaman and Absal" in the introduction to the "Stations of Knowers" section of his work al-Ishârât wa't-Tenbîhât. It is understood from the sign in question that the symbolic story is the symbolic expression of the competence of the arif's. In this study, which deals with the competence of the soul in the context of the symbolic story of "Salaman and Absal", first of all, the place of the symbolic story in the philosophy of Ibn Sînâ and the issues that Ibn Sînâ took into account while creating the symbolic story are evaluated. These evaluations are important in terms of clarifying the nature of the "Salaman and Absal" story, since it has not survived to the present day. Secondly, the symbolic story of "Salaman and Absal" is analyzed in the context of Ibn Sînâ's theory of soul and the sections "On Joy and Happiness", "On the Stations of Knowers" and "On the Secrets of Extraordinary Events" in his book al-Ishârât. Thus, it is aimed to reveal the scope of the symbolic language of the story and to evaluate the subject of the competence of the soul in detail.
