Ii. consumption habits and changes in Turkish society within the framework of posts and advertisements given on national newspapers during the World War

In this study, the consumption habits and changes of Turkey, which is far from the war period the world is between the years 1939-1945 have been examined. During this investigation, the news texts of Ulus and Cumhuriyet newspapers published between 1939 and 1945, as well as the news texts of the aforementioned newspapers were used. The consumption habits, daily life, economy, education, health activities of Turkish society between 1939-1945 and the consumption of products used in many other areas and their contribution to the modernization process have been studied in detail. Looking at the diversity of consumer products in the advertisements and ad text given to Ulus and Cumhuriyet newspapers, the image of women has also been encountered in the modernization efforts of Turkish society. For this reason, the importance of active role of Turkish women in daily life, who is the pioneer of modernizing Turkish society, is emphasized in the thesis. While Ulus newspaper was published in Ankara, Cumhuriyet newspaper continued its publishing life in Istanbul. When evaluated in this respect, the ad text and advertisements of the products given to newspapers give important information about the functioning of urban life and culture in a way.
