Abstract (EN)
In order to continue the life of humanity is needed interacts with its environment. This process of interaction human have with all the generosity of the environment, but it has been repaid to shorten the life of the environment. Nature has been created as a system that can self-renew. But it also has a certain limit. More and more of the earth's growing population as well as to have a certain area has been pushing the boundaries of the environment to regenerate feature. This natural balance deteriorated slightly as a result of force with each passing day and this has become a problem for all of humanity. The solution to this problem that all humanity primarily to bring awareness of this problem, to raise awareness of environmental awareness, consumption habits need to be brought properly. If these gains are given in schools where educational activities that one can dream of all generations have grown up with this awareness, it laid a step towards solving the problem. With this thesis, science course work with students aimed to determine the level of environmental awareness and sustainable levels of learning in the environmental unit. Also the difference between the level of students' attitudes towards the environment and environmental attitude scale were determined by pre-test and post-test. Students in the 4th grade level by discussing the concept of sustainability in environmental education activities were started after the data from the above-mentioned tests performed pre-testing applications. Working group of the research is composed by 4th year students (n = 60) that continued schools at Istanbul province Sancaktepe district Nişantepe 2015-2016 academic year. The sample selection was; It has been selected for sampling. The data collection tools; conceptual test, attitude scale, sustainable environmental awareness scale prepared by the researchers and expert views are prepared. The reliability coefficient KR20 of concept test that includes 35 questions was found to be 0.716. The attitude scale consisting of 21 substances in the light of primary level students about environmental pollution, noise pollution, and recycling has been prepared as a pre-test and post-test to measure the change in attitude to the green environment. 3-point Likert scale, with the overall Cronbach alpha was found to be 0.760. The scale sustainable environment, consists of a total of 10 questions (Derman, 2013)' is tailored to elementary students benefiting from the reputation of the study. Research conducted the analysis while experimental and control group pretest-posttest paper common codes in answer to a single reading pretest was formed. Number of desired and unwanted codes in students' answer was found. Increase in the desired answer of the test group and the control group were investigated as compared analyzed separately for 10 questions in the post test questions. xxii The implementation process took 28 lecture hours taking into account the objectives of the curriculum was carried out. For concept test, the success of the students who participated in the survey pre-test scores mean the group performed to determine whether to show a significant difference with respect to variable t-test results in the group means the difference between statistical significance (p>0.05) difference between not significant while post-test scores on average were found to be statistically significant (t = 3.871, p = 0.000 <0.05). The experimental group concept test achievement of pre-test to the concepts test achievement post test average is showing a significant difference is that the paired band performed to determine t-test results, the difference between the mean was statistically significant (t = -5.277; p = 0.000 <0.05 ). The control group pretest-posttest difference between arithmetic means were statistically significant (t = 2.938; p = 0.006 <0.05). Experimental and control by the group for environmental attitudes in order to determine the overall pre-test is the average of showing a significant difference between the groups of variables made the t-test results in the group, the difference between the mean in terms of statistical significance (t = 1.503, p> 0.05) not significant; The difference between the general attitude towards the environment mean post-test scores were statistically significant (t = 2.309, p = 0.025 <0.05). The experimental group environmental attitudes towards the overall pre-test to show any significant difference in the overall post test average attitude towards the environment that the paired band performed to determine t-test results, the difference between the mean was statistically significant (t = -2.486; p = 0.019 <0.05). Sustainable environmental awareness scale materials made tekteker analyzed separately for each item separately pretest posttest comparisons have been made to compare the most recent experimental and control groups. Students of sustainable environmental awareness levels on average in the pre-test is observed to be low. after study of the experimental group for sustainable increase in environmental consciousness level it was observed. This increase has a higher momentum than the increase in the control group. In the experimental group than 10 questions found no significant difference between pretest-posttest 8 question was no significant difference in 5 questions 10 questions in the control group. Only the last test results were examined applications made as a result of various activities conducted in the experimental group after the preliminary tests of an experimental study carried out this research in the experimental group and control group. Pretest and post-test experimental group in its application were performed to examine the changes in the control group data with the experimental and control groups.
