An examination of the "nahiv" of İsâmuddîn el-İsferâyînî's book titled Mîzânu'l-Edeb

In this study, the foreword and syntax sections of the work of Isamuddin named "Mizanu'l-Edeb fi Lisani'l-Arab" were examined. Our study consists of an introduction and two parts. In the introductory chapter, brief information is given about the birth of the Arabic language, its features, the beginning and development of grammar and rhetoric. In the first chapter, firstly, a brief evaluation was made about the period in which Isamuddin lived. Afterwards, the work titled "Mizanu'l-Edeb fi Lisani'l-Arab" was examined in general, brief information was given about its main parts and the titles in the work were mentioned. Isamuddin's purpose in writing the work, his method and style in the introduction of the work are stated. In addition, the introduction part of the work is examined in detail in this section. In the second part, the syntax of the work is analyzed in terms of content. The definitions in this section are compared with the definitions in other books, and the differences between them are discussed. Controversial issues were examined, and comparisons were made with the opinion of Isamuddin on the subject. In addition, in this section, information is given about the istişhads given by İsamuddin in the work and the main sources of the work.
