Analysis of employability skills affecting recruitment after on-the-job training programs

Employability skills; a person needs to get a job and be successful. Basic skills such as reading and writing, knowledge and thinking skills, personal qualities such as accuracy and honesty, skills such as the correct use of resources and systems, and ability to work as a team are the skills sought for employment. In this research, the employability skills that are effective in recruitment after the on-the-job training program were evaluated by the managers. In this context, 150 managers in enterprises operating in Gaziantep and implementing the on-the-job training program between 2015-2020 were interviewed and the data obtained using the survey technique between March-September 2020 were analyzed. As a result of the analysis, among the employment skills that are effective in recruitment after the on-the-job training program; It has been determined that Basic Skills, Thinking Skills, Personal Qualities, Skills for Using Resources, Teamwork, Skills for Accessing and Using Information, and System and Technology Skills are quite effective, while Foreign Language Skills are less effective criteria. Also; Employability skills required in recruitment after the on-the-job training program; It has been determined that there are statistically significant differences according to the demographic characteristics of the managers, enterprises, the duration of the training program or the duration of compulsory employment after the training program.
