Abstract (EN)
This study sets out to find out whether there is a political discrimination towards the employee recruitment and work-life in the organization by the perceptions of employees and employers. Within this scope, a questionnaire was administered to 407 employees and 108 managers in Ankara at 4 and 5 star hotels.The questionnaire is composed of four main parts. In the first part, there are questions on the establishments the employees work at and individual information on the employees. In the second part there are statements thought as important in process of recruitment and post-recruitment processes, the employees think according to the order of importance. In the third part of the questionnaire, there are 13 statements to find out the political discrimination in the work life. As for the fourth part, in order to differentiate the political discrimination from other types, of the seven types of discrimination, the type the participants have been exposed to has been looked into.The characteristics of the participants have been analyzed through frequency and percentage distributions. Besides, the opinions of the participants on the statements, in the second, third and the fourth parts of the questionnaire were analyzed through arithmetic average and standard deviation. In order to find out whether the opinions of the employees and the managers differ significantly in terms of the process of recruitment and the organizational life according to the criteria set, and to find out whether there is political discrimination during the process of recruitment and in the organizational environment differ in demographic features and organization-related features t-Test and for independent samples for more than two groups variance analysis was employed.The results of the analyses performed suggest that despite the fact that political discrimination is not as common as other types of discrimination, it has been found out that it is more common that ethnical and religious discrimination. It has also been found out that the participants regard the criteria of political opinion and activities as less important within recruitment process and organizational life and are of the opinion that in terms of both recruitment and organizational environment, there is political discrimination. Within the light of these findings, some suggestions were put forward in order to eliminate political discrimination in organizations.Keywords: Discrimination, political discrimination, process of employee recruitment, work-life in the organization.
