The purpose of this thesis is to study and verify a footnote on the interpretation of Al-Baydawi، by Jamal Al-Din Ishaq Al-Qarmani (died: 933 AH)، as for the scope of this study، it is limited to the part related to the Suras: Al-Zukhruf، Al-Dukhan، Al-Jathiya، and Al-Ahqaf. It has been worked on in two written copies. The importance of the footnote stems from the importance of al-Baydawi's interpretation، and the great care it received from scholars in explanation and commentary، which no other book had. Likewise، what the footnote contains of valuable، easy-to-phrase comments، by which the author removed the ambiguity of many phrases in an easy and simplified manner. The study followed the historical descriptive approach in the study section when presenting the biographies of the two imams Al-Baydawi and Al-Qarmani، and in the investigation section، the scientific method of investigation and commentary was followed، by checking the text، comparing copies، and attributing sayings and quotes to their sources. The results of the study were as follows: Al-Qarmani was able to explain al-Baydawi's phrases، which are difficult to understand، in easy and clear terms، using the tools of Arabic sciences. Syntax، morphology، rhetoric، and language، relying on interpretations that dealt with the linguistic aspect، such as the interpretation of Zamakhshari، and other sources of interpretation، speech، and linguistic dictionaries. He also referred to the methods of readings and their implications، which gave the footnote a variety of scientific content. The author adopted a clear approach in commenting on the noble verses by combining the two schools of interpretation with tradition، and interpretation with opinion. The footnote quoted some of the manuscript or lost exegetical sources، as well as returning the sayings to their owners، and containing comments about Sufi meanings. The footnote also showed the scientific honesty of Al-Qarmani in transmitting from the commentators، especially what he transmitted from Imam Al-Baydawi and Al-Zamakhshari، and he used to compare them and point out points of similarity and difference، and it is more likely in many cases، It is also noted that the author's lack of reasoning in the hadiths of the Prophet، which is not without weakness، and in the footnote also weighting many opinions that are based on strong evidence، as the footnote reflected the scientific activity and the high cultural level in the tenth century AH، and highlighted the high culture of Al-Qarmani، the diversity of his knowledge paths، and his thoughtful scientific personality.
