Iskender-name, Austrian National Library, 274 (analysis-text)

The Turkish language has continued its development from the past to the present by nourish on many languages and literature. The Iskender-name genre is nourish our language. The first Iskender-name is found in Firdevsî's Şeh-nâme, without being detached. As an independent genre, Poetic and prosaic, poetic-prosaic mixed continued to develop in Arabic, Persian and Turkish studies. In the studies, Alexander's life, wars, and extraordinary events are described in general terms. Due to the similarity of the geography where Alexander the Great and Iskender-i Zülkarneyn lived and the regions they fought, two different people were mixed in the Iskendername genre and a perfect character was revealed by taking their best features. In this study, the transcript of the poetic-prosaic mixed Iskender-name, which is registered with the number 274 in the Austrian National Library and Old Anatolian Turkish text dated 16th century whose translator is uncertain, has been transcribed and information about the genre has been given in general terms.
