Abstract (EN)

Technology is an integral part of human life. Developed machines and systems change routines and structures as they become part of human life. This change and transformation movement on social life is also a dynamic field of research. Social sciences examine the social structure of each period by developing different perspectives. Although the research object is society, the driving force is constantly changing. The ongoing studies on the computer and internet axis always lead to fuzzy results about advantages and disadvantages. In recent years, a digital version of almost every structure and habit has emerged. One of them is the behavior of "playing games." Although digital games are the subject of research, and appear as a typical alternative in the image, they are a threat in terms of the elements they contain. The time spent in the digital games poses an addiction threat in terms of the effect of this experience on productivity. Addiction behavior varies from family to family, even from city to city. To expand the scope, young people living in almost the same geography in the image play games with different ratios and factors. The research evaluates the digital game-playing behavior between Turkey and Bulgaria, which are border neighbors and have geographical and cultural-commercial transfers within the scope of addiction. The study, which examines the effects on users in the axis of productivity and playing time, is a descriptive. Two hundred university students from Istanbul and Sofia represent the research's focus. Questionnaires were asked to determine the duration of digital game playing, game purchasing behaviors, and the effects of playing games on social and academic life. The number of participants separated equally to make direct comparisons. The development of technology and digitalization areas are compared in the light of historically explained data of two countries. Also, the behavior of playing digital games is compared from a sociological perspective.
