Abstract (EN)
This study examines how Jean-Paul Sartre's worldview is reflected in the plays he has written. This study, which centers on Sartre's philosophy of existentialism, deals with the reflections of his philosophical thoughts in his theater works. The focus is on Sartre's treatment of basic existentialist concepts such as freedom, choice, morality and human existential questioning in his theater texts. In this context, the thoughts that Sartre developed throughout his life and how these thoughts are reflected in dramatic art are analyzed through the works discussed. In the first chapter, Jean-Paul Sartre's life, his first novel Nausea (La Nausée) and his first story The Wall (Le Mur) will be analyzed in detail. In addition, a comprehensive evaluation will be made from the humanism of the concepts of existence and nothingness to his understanding of morality, choice and freedom. In the second part, the plays written by Jean-Paul Sartre will be analyzed dramaturgically on the existential plane. It analyzes in detail some of Sartre's plays such as "The Dead without Graves" (Morts sans Sépulture), "The Flies" (Les Mouches), and "The Respectful Whore" (La Putain Respectueuse). These plays have been chosen as ideal examples to examine the way Sartre brought his existentialist philosophy to the stage and the dramatic structures he used in this process. The existential inquiries that Sartre imposes on his characters in these works and the effects of these inquiries on human nature are discussed from a philosophical perspective. The dialogues and dramatic plot in the theater texts are evaluated as the tools used to reflect Sartre's intellectual world. This study will examine how Sartre's existentialist philosophy is reflected in his theatrical works in terms of both content and form and show how this reflection is embodied on the stage. Sartre's plays will be comprehensively analyzed in terms of their existentialist philosophy and literary values, and the impact of Sartre's worldview on the art of theater will be emphasized. This text will make an important contribution to the literature evaluating Sartre's theater works in the context of existentialism.
