Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to test whether there is any kind of causality between carbon emissions- energy consumption and economic growth in MIST countries (Mexico, Indonesia, South Korea and Turkey). With this target in mind, carbon emission, energy consumption, gross domestic product data has been calculated in line with Unit Root test, Johansen Cointegration test and Granger Causality Test results between the years of 1971-2010. According to the results, it has revealed that there is a one-way causality from economic growth to carbon emissions and energy consumption. However, no causality has been seen from carbon emissions and energy consumption to economic growth. In other words, changes in economic growth predate the changes in carbon emissions and energy consumption.
