Abstract (EN)

This research was carried out to examine the self-efficacy levels of the parents of children diagnosed with delayed speech and language disorders. Within the scope of the research, it was also examined whether the self-efficacy perceptions of the parents and the perceived social support levels differed significantly in terms of socioeconomic level, age, number of children and education level variables. The participant group of the study consists of the parents of children diagnosed with "speech disorder". A total of 395 parents, 189 (47.8%) female and 206 (52.2%) male, participated in the study. The research was carried out with the relational scanning model, one of the general scanning models. "Personal Information Form" was used as a data collection tool to reach the demographic information of the parents. In addition, "Parental Self-Efficacy Scale" and "Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support" were used. Pearson Product-Moment Correlation analysis was conducted to examine the relationship between parents' parental self-efficacy levels and perceived social support levels. As a result of the analysis, parents' self-efficacy perceptions and perceived social support (r=.65; p<.01), family-based social support (r=.59; p<.01), friend-based social support (r=.48; p<.01) .01) and social support from a special person (r=.59; p<.01) scores were found to be moderately and positively significant.
