Abstract (EN)

This study, it is aimed to determine the level of illness cognition in patients with chronic low-back pain. In addition to this purpose, the level of physical activity, the level of pain-related depression, and the relationship between ilness cognition of individuals were evaluated. For this purpose, sociodemographic form, Illness Cognition Questionnaire, International Physical Activity Questionnaire and Beck Depression Scale were applied to patients presenting with chronic low back pain. 108 patients with chronic low back pain participated in our study. The sociodemographic characteristics of the participants and the relationship between the questionnaires were analyzed statistically. When the physical activity scale was examined by gender, a higher physical activity score was found in our male participants. Lower MET scores were found in participants whose education level was primary school. On the other hand, higher MET scores were found in working people than in non-working and retired people. The Illness Cognition Scale was found to be higher in people who exercise. Finally, another variable that was found to be statistically significant is smoking. Higher levels of depression were found in smokers compared to non-smokers.
