Abstract (EN)
Many people in public life get service from places that produce common services. One of the common service areas is hairdresser and barber salons. In the study, it was aimed to determine the information and applications related to the health questions, job satisfaction and infectious diseases of the employees in the hairdresser and barber salons in Gaziantep city center. The study is descriptive-cross-sectional. There search consisted of a total of 1200 hairdressers and barbers in the city center of Gaziantep. In the research, 628 participant agreed to participate from hairdresser and barber salons selected by clustering sampling method. Oral approvals were obtained from the owners of the work place and from the employee sand the work place questionnaire and employee questionnaire were filled. x² test was used for statistical analysis. According to their profession, 73.2% stated that they had received vocational training(p<0,002).About 45.0% said they had a manicure/pedicure, 67.4% had their handswashed before and after each operation, 30.1% stated that they used gloves and 13,5% stated that they used aprons(p<0,015).49,0% of hairdressers' and 51,0% of barbers' Hepatit B information(p<0,037), 48,4% of hairdressers' and 51,6% of barbers' AIDS related information is sufficient(p<0,002).55.1% of hairdressers have missing/unvaccinated with Hepatitis B vaccine. In the hairdresser/barbergroups, the occupational disease is increasing with the working year(p<0.000). The master hairdressers/barbers who work on the disinfection of manicure/pedicure containers forover 5 years disregard the risk of contamination(p<0,000).The level of hepatitis B knowledge and AIDS knowledge of hairdressers/barbers were67.6% and 63.2%, respectively (min:81/max:202) when the effect of job satisfaction was examined, was 134,00 and standard deviation of 21,19. There are deficiencies in hygiene and infectious diseases knowledge in hairdressers' and barbers' salons. Hygiene education and work place inspection mechanisms in apprentice ship training center sare important and all employee sare to be obliged to be vaccinated against Hepatitis B. People with inter mediate job satisfaction are insufficiently educated about hepatitis B and AIDS. Job satisfaction training courses should be given to hairdressers and barbers.
