Efficiency of government supports provided to SMEs and an application of SME's development organization in Diyarbakir

Small and Medium Enterprises which know as SMEs have also an extremely important position in the economy of our country as in every country of the world. SMEs are essential elements of market economy based on free competition and social stability in terms of numerical majority, the volume of employment, production value, their contribution to development and the diffusion of the income distribution. Importance of SMEs has been understood in recent years and national policies have been developed in this direction. A lot of support programs are provided for SMEs in many different areas by various institutions in our country and there is a lack of such a research which will be a reference for SMEs. Therefore in our research, generating a support frame that will be a source for SMEs, creating awareness and developing suggestions to increase SMEs support programs utilization level are aimed. Thus, applied/will be applied acts in process of improving and developing SMEs will be presented for institutions which constitute national SMEs policies especially SMEs Development Organization. With the analysis of the achieved data, significant increases occurred in the types and amount of supports provided to SMEs by the state, inadequacy level of knowledge of SMEs about supports programs and significant impact of SMEs Development Organization's support programs on SMEs were discovered.
