Relationship with neighbors in the Quran (A socio-psychological approach in the context of the 36th versicle of Nisa)

The main subject of our research is to deal with the religious and socio-psychological dimensions of neighborly relations recommended in Surah Nisâ 36 with an interdisciplinary method. The basic concepts of this research are neighbor and ihsan. The question expresses the main problem. The aim of our study is to contribute to the structuring of neighborly relations, which constitute a very important step in the social structure after the family, on the axis of benevolence, which is the key concept of the Qur'an. According to the findings, many phenomena such as industrialization, urbanization, secularization, migration, modernism, rapidly developing and changing technologies, social and cultural change have negatively affected neighbor relations and weakened relations between neighbors, causing psychological crises and socio-psychological problems. Therefore, it is impossible to deal with and solve problems in relations such as family, kinship and neighborliness with a single discipline in today's conditions. In our research, the lexical meanings of the concepts of neighbor/being and ihsan were first determined by using Arabic dictionaries. Subsequently, the main sources of the Islamic religion such as the Qur'an, tafsir and hadith, studies in the literature, printed works and web resources were accessed. In addition, by making use of the studies on neighborhood relations of sociology and psychology disciplines, printed and web resources, the consciousness of benevolence in neighborhood relations was interpreted with an interdisciplinary method. In conclusion; It was concluded that the establishment of an ideal society, quality life and peaceful neighborly relations is possible by reviving the benevolence consciousness pertaining to every aspect of life.
