The analysis of Divan of Leyla Hanım

Divan poetry analysis has an important place in the studies of old Turkish literature. It is known that the studies of understanding, explaining, introducing and evaluating the Divan poetry date back to old times. Divan poetry analysis; starting from divan literature's own period, has come until today; today, the introduction of the past, therefore to keep it alive and in terms of establishing a connection between the past and the present, has gained great prominence. Divan poetry analysis studies have begun in the period of Divan literature. It is necessary to emphasize that this work, as well as its text description, analysis, and evaluation, has gained significance and intensity. In this study, we tried to analyze the Divan of Leyla Hanım, which is one of the 19th-century women poets. Leyla Hanım is a Divan poet known for her lyrical love poems. She was born in Istanbul and is the daughter of Kazasker Moralızâde Hâmid Efendi. There is not much information about her life, her date of birth is unknown as well. As it is understood from her poems, her uncle is Keçecizâde İzzet Molla. It is seen that there are expressions in Divan that show, İzzet Molla who guided her with poems, as the master and her teacher. Leylà Hanım was raised by taking her culture from her enlightened family environment. In our study, we have dealt with the works of Leylâ Hanım Divanı published by the bookstore publications prepared by Mehmet Arslan and www.kulturturizm.gov.trhttp: //ekitap.kulturturizm.gov.tr as the main source. Thus, we tried to understand, evaluate and introduce Leylâ Hanım Dîvanı better. In addition, this study is important in terms of introducing Divan literature and past culture.
