Abstract (EN)

Breast cancer is one of the most common malignancies of woman that causes death, in the world. From advanced stages to early stages of this cancer 5 years survival rates, increase from %15 to %93. Because of this dramatic increase of survival rates, it is more important to make its early diagnosis by making its molecular bases clear. So, we need to make more molecular researches. In previous researches, it was shown that UGT 1A gene family has protective effects in cancer development process. In this study, we searched for the relationship between UGT 1A gene expression and cancer development to be able to make earlier diagnosis of masses in breast with gene analysis. This prospective study was done with ethical committee's and patient's approval. mRNA and cDNA levels were measured in normal tissues and tumor tissues which were collected peroperatively. Measurement of UGT 1A 10 expression was done with real-time PCR. We measured expression levels of this gene with 2 DCT method and compared it with expression levels of beta actine. 43 patients were included and mean age was 43.7. The most common pathological diagnosis was invasive ductal carcinoma with %67.4 percent. We measured UGT 1A 10 level 0.02377 in the tissue that 2 DCT level was normal and 0.0296 in tumor tissue. UGT 1A 10 expression was minimally increased in tumor tissue. But this increment was not statistically significant. As a result, there was no statistically significant difference of UGT 1A 10 expression levels between normal and tumor tissues of the same patient. Thus, the relationship between UGT 1A 10 and breast cancer is now more suspicious. Key Words: Breast Cancer, Genetic Expression, UGT1A10 genes.
