An Anecdote in the Life of Pride of the Universe/ A Story of Khadija: Textual analysis, transcribed text and intralingual translation

The aim of this thesis is to examine the text of An Anecdote in the Life of Pride of the Universe/ A Story of Khadija, which was scribed in 1181 hijri, in terms of form and content, transcribing the text into Roman alphabet and translating it into modern Turkish; and to contribute to Turkish Sufi literature by introducing a religious work written in Aruz prosody. In this direction, the text offering a short life period of the Prophet, especially describing his meeting with Khadija and their marriage was evaluated in the context of linguistic features of the period in which it was scribed and read and also it is translated into modern Turkish. Firstly, the genre of the work, the story and the reality in story are mentioned and then the work is evaluated in terms of form and style, verse and meter, rhyme, language and expression. In the content section, the subject and content of the work are mentioned in general, and the plot, the relations between the events and reality and the Salavat in the text are listed under separate titles respectively. The names of the Prophet given in the text were evaluated. In the conclusion part, the inferences obtained from the examination of form and content of the story are listed. The last section explains how the eventual text in the thesis has been formed. Then, the text transcribed into Roman alphabet are given with its intralingual translation into modern Turkish. The facsimile of the text has been given as appendix in the end of our study. Key Words: Anecdote, Pride of the Universe, Khadija, poetry.
