Abstract (EN)
The Terra Sigillata and Late Roman Red-slip ceramıcs found in the excavations at Metropolis Theratre between 1991 and 2007 are the subject of this study. Terra sigillata ceramics are examined into main groups as Eastern terra sigillatas and Western terra sigillatas in this study, 24 pieces Eastern Sigillata A, 501 pieces Eastern Sigillata B, 164 pieces Eastern Sigillata C and 77 pieces Late Roman Red Slip ware seramic were investigated. From the identified parts, 224 identifiable parts were evaluated. Terra sigillatas are good workmanship, well-baked pots and well-polished red, brightly lined ceramics. The emergence of western sigillatas is considered as the Early Empire period, 1st century BC, while the eatern sigillatas are regarded as the middle of the 2nd century BC.Late Roman Red Slip Ware continued from the middle of the 3rd century to the 6th century. When the sigillata of Metropolis theatre are examined, it is seen that the density is in the Eastern sigillata B. As in Metropolis theatre, The Hillside houses, Stoa and Palaestra sigillata are also seen, Eastern sigillata B and C ceramics are observed intensively while eastern sigillata form A is less. In the addition , parts that can be defined as local imitations in the city were also identified.
