The analysis of the album "Mevlânâ'nın Dilinden" according to lyrics

Mawlānā Jalāl ad-Dīn Rūmī, born in 1207, has been known by his literary work and the Sufi path founded by him, Mawlawīyya for centuries. It has a rich and well-known musical tradition. The Mawlawī ceremonies was formed of a long musical form, called "ayin-i şerif". This form is one of the highest artistic forms of the classical Turkish music. In this thesis, a contemporary album "Mevlânâ'nın Dilinden" will be examined and this album consists of lyrics from the literary work of Mawlānā in the same way the classical form of "ayin-i şerif" has. However, the musicality and compositions of the album offers a new way than the classical form. By this new musical form, this album is made to present the thought and wisdom of Rūmī to the contemporary musical understanding. This thesis aims to discuss and understand the lyrics of the album. There are also interviews with the composer M. İhsan Özer and performer Ahmet Özhan in the study. Moreover, it also includes some other interviews about the novelty of the album in Turkish music with some prominent figures of the classical Turkish music and Mawlawīyya.
