The effect of applications based on mobile learning on student's science academic success, attitude, motivation and mobile learning attitudes

The Purpose of this study is to determine "The Effects of Mobile Learning Applications on Students' Academic Achievement, Attitude, Motivation and Mobile Learning Attitudes in Science Course". Therefore, the "Interaction of Light with Matter" section, which is included in the Syllabus of the Science Course, was taught to the 7th grade students via a mobile application. In this context, semi-experimental design with pretest-posttest control group, which is one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the research. As the working group of the research, two student groups whose successes are close to each other at a middle school affiliated to the Kütahya Directorate of National Education were determined in the 2019-2020 academic year; one of these groups was assigned as the experiment group (n = 50), and the other as the control (n = 50) group. During the four-week experimental application process, experimental group students have received the section of "Interaction of Light with Matter" via this application, meanwhile the same section was taught according to the MEB Science Syllabus. In the research, quantitative data were collected with "Academic Achievement Test", "Motivation Scale for Science", "Attitude Scale for Science", "Attitude Scale for Mobile Learning" related to "Interaction of Light with Matter" unit. The data observed during and after the research were analyzed using a statistical package program.
