Abstract (EN)

The ionizing radiation has been using as a diagnostic and therapeutic methods of medical applications since 1900s. It is fact that ionizing radiation provides many benefits in medical imaging on the other hand it gives some damage by transferring energy to healthy tissues and organs. The aim of this study is determining of radiation absorbed organ doses using Monte Carlo Simulation method in medical X-ray imaging examinations. In determining of absorbed tissue and organ doses used the Caldose X software which calculations based on MASH and FASH phantoms and the PCXMC software which calculations based on mathematical hermaphrodite phantom. Cranium, thorax, abdomen, pelvis, thorax + lumbar examinations were determined as standard radiography procedures. In accordance with the determined procedures, simulations of a total of over 148 different parameters were performed for an adult male in size of 176 cm tall 73 kg in weight and for an adult female in size of 163 cm tall 60 kg in weight. As a result of this, absorbed doses, effective doses and risk assessments are calculated separately for each simulation. Even by the application direction of the examination, the quantity of absorbed tissue and organ doses observed different results that can not be underestimated. Because of that, it is need to prevent the unnecessary dose exposure. In the risk assessment, torax with the risk of exposure-induced lung cancer and abdomen with the risk of exposure-induced breast cancer for females and torax with the risk of exposure-induced lung cancer and pelvis with the risk of exposure-induced colon cancer for males has been identified as the most risky examinations.
