Abstract (EN)

Epistemology is one of the common topics of both philosophy and theology, and is titled as the subject that deals with problems such as the quiddity, possibility, types and source of knowledge. Despite the fact that each of these problems is essential in the science of theology, the problem of how knowledge is defined has a confidential significance as an issue that cannot be agreed upon. In this regard, each of the theologians tried to illustrate the knowledge on their axis of existence. It is not tough to estimate how these definitions may differ when the approaches of the scholars of the mutekaddimun era are paid regard to. Whereas, while the Mutazila generally regarded the information as belief, Ahl Sunnah theologians criticized Mutazila because such a definition was not inclusive, the definitions of information they obtained as a result of these criticisms were subjected to a different criticism by the muteahhirun thinkers on the grounds that logic bases were not taken into consideration. When we take into account Ashari was also an important thinker of the mutekadddimun era, the knowledge definition/definitions made by him will become more substantial at this point. Therefore, in the thesis; Is there any relationship between the information description of Mutazila and Plato's? At what point have criticisms focused on the information definitions of the Mutazila theologians? What are the aims of the Ahl Sunnah theologians by describing definition in the period of mutekaddimun? What are the definitions of information relative to Ashari and which / which of these definement are not in doubt? Is the judgment of Ashari's knowledge description based on the logic of Aristotle or Stoa in his definitions of knowledge a strong claim? Answers to questions will be sought.
