Abstract (EN)

The predatör mite Neoseiulus californicus McGregor (Acari: Phytoseiidae) is an important natural enemy used in phytophagous mite control in agricultural production areas. In this study, it was aimed to determine the development of pyridaben resistance in Neoseiulus californicus as a result of selection pressure under laboratory conditions, the inheritance of pyridaben resistance in predator mites and the relationship of resistance with target region mutations. For this purpose, pyridaben resistance levels in N. californicus were determied by leaf disc spray tower method. Bioassay trials were established as 7 doses+1 control and 3 replications, and the adult period of N. californicus was used for this procedure. Dead-alive counts were made at the end of 24 hours and LC values and resistance rates were determined. As a result of seven selections, 270-fold pyridaben resistance was determined in N. californicus as a result of resistance heredity studies; Pyridaben resistance in F1 females was found to be incompletely dominant and sex dependent. It was determined that N. californicus was resistant to pyridaben and there was no significont difference in monooxygenase enzyme levels in the initial population and they were statistically included in the same group. No amino acid changes were detected as a result of PCR determination of target site mutations in the pyridaben-resistant and initial population of N. californicus. Therefore, increased pyridaben resistance in the selection population is thought to be caused by mechanisms order than target site mutations. In addition, this study is the first study to determine the relationship between pyridaben resistance inheritance and target site mutations and pyridaben resistance in N. californicus.
