The levels of to be ready for change of schools (Afyonkarahisar city sample)

This research aims to determine to what extend readiness levels to change of the schools in Afyonkarahisar depending on Ministry of Education in terms of readiness to change of teachers, school administrators, physical technological infrastructure of schools and parents according to teachers' and school administrators' opinions. Also, the opinions' of the teachers and school administrators related to readiness to change of schools , whether there is meaningful difference according to variables of gender, duty, field ,seniority and working time in the school is asked to determine. 7621 teachers and 995 school administrators working in 17 counties and the centrum of Afyonkarahisar in 2015-2016 Academic year set the universe of the reasearch. The number of going into the representative sample is determined as 439 teachers and 257 school administrators. In this research, personal information form developed by Helvacı and Zorlu (2015) and the scale of schools' readiness to change developed by Helvacı (2015) are applied to teachers and school administrators. Obtained data are analysed with the SPSS package programme. According to the opinions of the teachers and the school administrators whether the readiness levels of the schools become different according to gender, branch, educational background, seniority and working duration with t test and one way ANOVA test in the condition of meaningful difference to determine the difference between the groups Tukey HSD analysis is carried out. Obtained findings are presented by table. According to the opinions of teachers within the scope of the readiness levels to change of the schools, the research findings showed that in the dimensions of the teachers' readiness to change, in the dimensions of the administrators' readiness to change, in the dimensions of the school infrastructure's readiness to change, in the dimensions of parents' readiness to change are at the 'middle' level. According to school administrators' opinions, within the scope of the readiness levels to change of the schools, the research findings showed, in the dimensions of the teachers' readiness to change, in the dimensions of the administrators' readiness to change are being at the 'mostly' level ; in the dimensions of the schools infrastructure's readiness to change, in the dimensions of parents' readiness are being at the 'middle' level.
