Effectiveness of addiction training at secondary school level and views of students about the training

The purpose of this research is to evaluate the effectiveness of addiction training at secondary school that we call Training Program on Addiction Prevention of Turkey (TBM), applied to Republic of Turkey Ministry of National Education, especially the country's different segments and different age groups, and the secondary school level and students' views on education. In this study, pretest-posttest experiment design was used and the results were analyzed by statistical methods. In Karabağlar district of İzmir province, two middle schools with risk students were determined. The experimental group of the study consisted of all the students at all stages of the selected secondary school. In order to obtain the pre-test data of the experimental group students, the technology addiction, tobacco addiction and healthy life questionnaires which are sub-modules of the TBM were applied by the researcher. After obtaining the pre-test data, the TBM training was applied to the students in the experimental group. The training was carried out in 3 modules / 8 hours at each class level. After the training programs, technology addiction, tobacco addiction and healthy life questionnaires were applied to the experimental group students and the final test data were obtained. In addition, the opinions of the students about the education were examined by applying the form of the student opinions which were prepared by taking the opinions of 3 experts. The pre-test and post-test data of the experimental groups were analyzed using the T-test. The significance level of the study was .05. As a result of the study, it was observed that the TBM applied at secondary level was an effective preventive training program. The students' views after the training support these results.
