Abstract (EN)
In this thesis work called `Trabzon City? Before The Ottoman Era, while the information about the economic and political life of Trabzon until it was put into Ottoman Empire?s boundary is being stated, mainly 11th and post 11th century period has been taken into consideration.Trabzon, which has always kept its qualification as a trade centre, gained a military base identification while it was in the borders of Byzantine Empire. The city, which was ruled by the freelance governors from time to time with the help of advantage given by the geography, was in contact with some powers like Seljuks, Mongol, Aqquyunlu, Timurids, Turkish provinces having settled in Anatolia along with Ottomans during the Trabzon State founded after the 4th Crusades.
