Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to examine the relation between burnout and job satisfaction scores and age, weekly average working hours, active working periods (years) and the working institution. The study was carried out on a total of 100 physiotherapists, consisting of 50 special education groups and 50 hospital groups working in special education and rehabilitation centers, private medical centers, private hospitals or private physiotherapy centers in the Anatolian side of Istanbul between November 2014 and June 2015. The Maslach Burnout Scale, the Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale and the demographic information form surveys prepared by the researcher were applied to physiotherapists agreed to participate in the survey in order to determine the occupational burnout and job satisfaction levels. No statistically significant difference between the groups was found in terms of gender, marital status, education level, age, number of children and active working time in an occupation (p> 0, 05). Both groups were found to be high in terms of job satisfaction and low in terms of burnout level within itself. While there was no difference between emotional exhaustion and depersonalization scores between the special education group and the hospital group, the score of individual decline was higher in the special education group (10,1 ± 3,3) than in the hospital group (8,1 ± 3,6) (p = 0.004). No difference was found between the two groups in terms of job satisfaction scores. As a result; although a significant relation was found between the working institution and seniority burnout scores, no significant relation was found between weekly average working hours and burnout scores. At the same time, no significant relationship was found between job satisfaction and the working institution, average weekly working hours and length of service (seniority).
