Abstract (EN)

This research was planned and carried out to determine the effect of potassium (KCl) fertilization applied at different times and doses on the yield and fiber technological properties during the cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) growing season in 2020 and 2021. The experiment was created in three replications according to the split plots trial design in random blocks in Harran plain conditions, each plot was formed from 6 rows, the row spacing was 75 cm and the row was sown on the ridge with 5.3 cm. In the experiment, Fiona cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) variety, which is widely planted in the region and suitable for the demands of farmers and industrialists, was used as material. The number of days after planting in the experiment is the potassium (KCl) doses applied to the main plots on the 30th, 40th and 50th days; 0 kg/da, 10 kg/da, 20 kg/da and 30 kg/da sub-parcels were formed. In the experiment, seed cotton yield, plant height, number of wood branches, number of fruit branches, number of bolls, boll weight, fiber yield and 100 seed weight, fiber length, uniformity ratio, fiber strength, fiber fineness, short fiber ratio and brightness were investigated. . According to the results obtained from the research, the seed cotton yields varied between 396 kg/da and 520 kg/da. The highest seed cotton yield (520 kg/da) was obtained from the 50th day after sowing and 30 kg/da KCl interaction. Plant height values are 85.41 cm and 77.95 cm in 2020, 87.63 cm and 81.13 cm in 2021; cocoon weight values are between 6.49 g and 5.97 g in 2020, between 6.97 g and 5.92 g in 2021; In 2021, 6.97 g was obtained from the 50th day x 30 kg/da KCl application after sowing. The number of fruit branches was observed between 9.02 and 11.3 units/plant in 2020 and between 7.78 and 10.44 units/plant in 2021. The number of cocoons was between 16.24 and 13.69 in 2020, and between 15.75 and 10.15 in 2021, and the highest number of cocoons was determined in the 40th day 20 kg/da application. The fiber uniformity values varied between 82.23% and 85.40%, and the short fiber ratio was found between 6.70 and 11.70.
