Abstract (EN)
Throughout history, many pandemics occurred among societies; people at the micro level and societies at the macro level experienced the pandemic in different ways. While countries such as Italy and China have adopted a full closure policy for the Covid-19 pandemic, countries such as the United States, Sweden and Brazil have followed a more flexible policy. In Turkey, many public spaces have been closed and partial, full closure and isolation measures have been taken within the scope of preventive measures.Eight households with different socio-economic structures living in Gaziantep selected by snowball and purposive sampling technique. The aim of this thesis is to describe the social, economic and political changes in the household, which has turned into an educational environment during the pandemic period, and the problems created by these changes and the solutions produced against the problems. The study was written with the ethnographic method by observing the social universe in the household during online and offline class hours. Factors affecting participation in distance education included (a) Internet access, (b) lack of infrastructure, (c) number of people attending classes in the household, and (d) inconsistencies between class and curfew hours. Inflation, the prohibition of dismissal and working allowance, the change in consumer behavior have affected the economic life. In addition, partial and full curfews and age-level restrictions as part of preventive measures; It has changed the diet, mental health, consumption habits and communication universe of the households.
