Abstract (EN)

In this research, it is aimed to examine the piano teaching attitudes of piano educators in private and public schools in Turkey and Azerbaijan in the 2021-2022 academic year. In this study, scanning model, which is one of the quantitative research methods, was used. The study group consisted of 150 teachers who were piano teachers in private and public schools in Turkey and Azerbaijan and volunteered to participate in the research. As data collection tools, "Demographic Information Form" prepared by the researcher and Assoc. Dr. "Attitude Scale of Piano Educators Towards Piano Teaching" developed by Tarkan Yazıcı (2016) was used. In the research, questionnaires were sent to the teachers in electronic environment and the obtained data were analyzed. The data obtained through the piano lesson motivation scale and demographic information form were analyzed, arranged in tables and interpreted. The majority of the participants operating in the field of piano education emphasize the importance of knowledge sharing and experience sharing. Most of the participants show that they are open to continuous improvement and innovations in piano teaching. Likewise, they take an active attitude in following up-to-date resources on piano teaching, participating in projects voluntarily, and examining the literature. This reflects the participants' willingness to contribute to their personal development and benefit society. As a result of the research, it was revealed that the thought of continuous teaching was a source of concern for some participants, while showing the importance of enjoyment and resilience during piano teaching. This result reflects both enjoyable and challenging aspects of piano teaching. However, the rate of those who think that piano teaching may be difficult for some participants is also high. This indicates the challenges faced by teachers and the need to improve teaching practice. In general, the results of the research show that individuals working in the field of piano teaching are open to continuous learning and development, attach importance to knowledge sharing, and evaluate their teaching processes as focused on personal satisfaction and social contribution.
