Abstract (EN)

The aim of the study was to examine the effectiveness of ısometric and ısokinetic strengthening exercises on the sense of shoulder peak torque, flexibility and proprioception in the ısokinetic system in healthy individuals. It was performed on a non-dominant shoulder on 16 healthy men and 14 women, ages between 15-35. It consisted of an ısometric and ısokinetic exercise study group of 15 people. In order to determine the initial values of the participants, evaluation of back stratch flexibility, shoulder internal and external peak torque force test in the ısokinetic system and internal rotation were performed at 30° and 60°; external rotation 30° and 60° angles of passive and active joint position sense test was performed. Participants practiced exercise for 6 weeks on a 3-day/week basis. After the study, the tests applied before the study were repeated. The results showed an increase in shoulder internal rotation (p=0.002) and external rotation flexibility measurement (p=0.009) after exercise compared to before exercise in the ısometric exercise group. In ısokinetic exercise group, there was an increase in shoulder internal rotation flexibility measurement (p=0.002) and external rotation flexibility measurement (p=0.009) after exercise compared to before exercise. There was an increase in internal rotation peak torque (p=0.001) and external rotation peak torque (p=0.001) and internal (p=0.001) and external (p=0.001) rotation peak torque in the ısokinetic group. In the ısometric exercise group, active joint position sensation was not statistically significant at all angles (p = 0.940). In the ısometric exercise group, the sense of passive joint position was statistically significant (p = 0.002). In ısokinetic exercise, sensation of active joint position was statistically significant (0.085). In isokinetic exercise, the sensation of passive joint position was found to be statistically significant (p=0.015). As a result; In order to prevent shoulder injuries, to improve neuromuscular control, and to evaluate force performances, it was observed that exercises performed in the ısokinetic system can increase shoulder peak torque, flexibility, and sense of active and passive joint position.
