Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of Clinical Pilates-based exercises on flexibility, quality of life and sleep quality in healthy adults. 30 healthy individuals between the ages of 18-45 who came to Istanbul Bia Life Studio participated in our study. Participants were given Clinical Pilates-based exercises for 60 minutes, once a week, for 12 weeks, accompanied by a physiotherapist. Measurements to evaluate the flexibility, quality of life and sleep quality of individuals were repeated before and after 12 weeks clinical pilates based exercise program. A statistically significant increase was found in all flexibility parameters measured at the 12th week after clinical pilates exercises (p<0.05). At the end of exercises, significant improvement was observed in the SF-36 Quality of Life Scale scores, except for the physical role sub-parameter and social functionality sub-parameter (p<0.05). There was a statistically significant improvement in Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Scale scores measured at the end of exercises (p<0.05). According to the results of this research, Clinical Pilates exercises can be used as an effective method to increase flexibility, quality of life and sleep quality in healthy adults.
