Abstract (EN)

The fundamental aim of this research is to demonstrate that actions of the persons in management positions in the Non-Governmental Organisations in Diyarbakır are driven by personal interests and incentives rather than objective goals of the NGOs. Due to its institutional base and method of shedding light to the questions posed in the research survey, the characteristic of the research is a qualitative one. The research universe is the province of Diyarbakır. Twenty-five managers of associations in this universe were identified through random sampling method and they were interviewed. Descriptive analysis method was used in analysing the data in the research. With this method, the aim was to identify differences and similarities between views of the NGO managers involved in the research. It was revealed that, all participants had above average financial status, all of them were graduates of formal education and with high education levels. The conclusion drawn from the data is that, it reveals that the managers tend to utilise the capital of the organisation they manage in actions prioritising their own personal interests rather than utilising it to achieve the organisational objectives of the civil society.
