Determination of information and communiciation technologies using levels of primary school teachers according to diffusion of innovation theory

The main purpose of this study is to determine effects of the variables of seniority, in-service training, opportunity, on status of teachers using ICT and to analyze ICT integration levels of teachers according to Diffusion of Innovations Theory. This research is a descriptive case study. The study has been designed on the basis of qualitative research techniques. Semi-structured interview form was used to collect research data. The sample consists of 14 primary school teachers that working in Primary Schools of Uşak.According to the results obtained from the research, as the teachers purpose of using ICT in the integration teaching-learning process was determined that attracting the attention of the student, providing permanent learning, time saving and taking into account individual differences, being used in different areas of intelligence and different senses. According to findings; status of teachers? using ICT in the teaching-learning process shows differentiation when analyzed in terms of seniority, in-service training and opportunity variables. Also it was seen that computer, internet and office has completed diffusion among teachers however e-mail and forums/blogs structures have not. It can be said that these instruments has not been sufficiently integrated in teaching-learning process.
