Investigation of self-efficacy perceptions towards science and technology literacy according to selected variables of classroom teachers: Burdur province sample

The aim of this study is to determine whether there is a difference in self-efficacy perceptions of classroom teachers about science and technology literacy according to selected variables. 216 classroom teachers working in central and villages of Burdur province participated in the study. The questionnaire including personal information prepared by the researcher and the scale prepared by Caymaz (2008) are used. Statistical analysis of the data was performed using SPSS 23.0 program. The normality distributions of the data were determined according to the skewness and kurtosis coefficients. The independent samples T-test was used to evaluate the averages statistically between two independent groups. One-way analysis of variance (One-Way Anova) was used to reveal the difference between two unrelated sample means. In case of significant difference in One-Way Anova test, Dunnett T test was used in post-hoc tests. As a result of the research, classroom teachers' self-efficacy perceptions of science and technology literacy vary significantly according to gender, type of graduation program, type of diploma graduated, type of place of residence, year of seniority, follow-up of written publications about science, participation in activities in the field of science and technology, the status of taking courses related to science and technology in university education, technology usage status, the type of high school they graduated from (p <0.05).
