Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was investigated whether the Quranists generally included hadiths, which are products of verbal culture, in their tafsir-type works. In addition, the ignoring of the verbal and written cultural environment of the first periods of Islam, the source of the slogan "Only the Quran" and the historical process of its re-emergence from the 19th century are mentioned. While examining the Quranists' behavior without taking into account the verbal culture of the Prophet's era, the educational status of the leading figures, the countries they received education and orientalists, etc., which influenced some of them. Based on the information, it was examined how his views evolved over time. Finally, the life and thoughts of Ercümend Özkan, one of the Quranists in Turkey, and his approach to the verbal culture and hadiths that dominated the society in the early periods of Islam were tried to be explained in a scientific way by using his own works in general.
