Abstract (EN)
Apart from literary works that are important for Turkish language studies, one of the richest resources on which productive studies can be carried out are historical medical texts. Medical texts of the Old Anatolian Turkish period form the basis for today's Turkish with the use of pure language. Following the texts of the 14th and 15th centuries, Ottoman Turkish medical texts were classified as works of the Classical Period in the 16th and 17th centuries; Turkification is an indication that we are faced with a new medical language field in which words of "Western" origin have settled into our language and Persian and Arabic languages are dominant in terms of grammar and style. Medical works have dense material to derive the phonetic framework of the period. In this study, the work called "Maġzüʿṭ-ṭıbb", which is a text that can show the characteristics of 16th century medical tools, plants, remedies and the transition period of 17th century Turkish, was presented with transcription and dictionary study. The work is a book of diseases and remedies recorded with the name "Mugziʿt tıbb", which is a translation of the work "Rubâʿiyyât-ı Yȗsufî" by Yȗsufî Herevî, one of the famous physicians of the 16th century, and was misreadly recorded in the National Library under the number "06 mil Yz A 2719/1". The work appears in Persian in library resources. However, the work is a translated text written in Turkish language. In the work, Yȗsufî's rubais are in Persian. It is stated both in the IRCICA catalogs and in another copy of the work that the translator and author of the work is Talʿatî Çelebi, one of the 17th century figures. The translator/author is recorded incorrectly and/or incompletely in the library resources as "Talati Abd-i Şahi", as is the name of the book. In this study, an attempt was made to accurately identify the author, his work and the content of the work in detail, and it was also aimed to correct the name of the work and author that were thought to be recorded incorrectly or incompletely. In the work, the simple ve composed remedies of Yȗsufî Herevî are explained through rubâʿîs. In the text where Persian rubais are translated into Turkish, the syntax and external structure seen in the Classical Ottoman period stand out, and partially include plain Turkish expressions and archaic usages. Mixed language features are frequently seen. The aim of the study is to contribute to the dictionaries of medical texts in the field of Turkish Language by determining the content correctly and revealing the phonetics of the period.
