Abstract (EN)

The concepts of theogony, cosmogony, anthropogony and eschatology, which are the main subjects of the concept of mythology, are important in terms of reflecting the mentality and belief system of the society they belong to. Throughout history, subjects such as the attributes of God, the creation of the universe and human, the death of the person and the apocalypse has taken its place among the thoughts that occupy the human mind. These thoughts have formed the myths of societies over time. Thus, mythology and religion are connected by strong roots. The main subject of the research is the similarities between the old Turkish religion and the religion of Islam within the framework of theogony, cosmogony, anthropogony and eschatology. The understanding of God in Turkish mythology is largely similar to the belief in Allah in Islam. It is seen that Kök Tenğri and Allah have similar attributes, especially regarding the attributes of God. It should be noted that the narratives in Turkish mythology about cosmogony show similarities with the verses in the Qur'an. In the field of cosmogony; the similarities between Turkish mythology and Islam religion were compared in subjects such as the beginning state of the universe, the creation of the heavens and the earth, the layers of the sky, the pillar of the sky, the shape of the sky. As in the field of cosmogony, there are important similarities between the epics of Turkish mythology and the verses of the Qur'an and the narratives of the Islamic religion in the field of anthropogony, which examines the creation of man. In the field of anthropogony; The subjects such as the creation of man, the creation of woman and the expulsion from heaven are among the subjects in which similarities are compared within the framework of Islam and Turkish mythology. It is seen that there are serious similarities between the religion of Islam and Turkish mythology in the field of eschatology, which examines the extinction of the universe, world and man. In the field of eschatology; Subjects such as death, life after death, flood and apocalypse narratives were compared to determine the similarities between Turkish mythology and Islam.
