The impact of terrorist actions on tourism: Istanbul Marriot Asia Hotel case analysis

Consepts of terrorism and tourism recently have taken a significant emphasis. Tourism has been a significant sector for countries as it is a significant resource for them by supporting with financial gains and profits. Recently, many terrorist activities taking place in our country unfortunately has restricted touristic activities and brought a loss. Terrorist acts affect people both generally and financially. In terms of tourism revenues, the tourism income has begun to decline due to the increase of terrorist acts. The reduction in tourism revenenue has not affected only the tourism, but also all other business sectors related to tourism as well. This study shows the effects of terror acts such as the reduction of İstanbul Marriott Asia Hotel customer numbers and also how the hotel has been influenced by regional events.
