No consultancy training was given to the control group by the researcher they only received the routine training in the hospital. Patient Identification Form, Metabolic Control Variables Form (MCVF), DSCS and DFSC were administered to both groups in the first interview. The intervention group had been provided the web-based training for six months. MCVF was recorded in the third month of the study. The planned face to face group meeting with the intervention group and family members was canceled due to the pandemic and a group video call was made in the 6th month. MCVF, DSCS and DFSC were administered. SPSS program was used to analyze the data. It was determined that DSCS scores were significantly higher in the intervention group (p<0.05). Significantly positive percentage increases were found in the variables of regular administration of insulin injections, measuring blood glucose, exercise, snacks and dietary compliance. Fasting blood glucose values in the 3rd and 6th months were found to be significantly lower than the values of the 0th month (p<0.05).
